•A man with a broken-down car finds hospitality near the Yugoslavian border with a family of peasants. He falls in love with the youngest and most beautiful daughter but does not know that a terrible curse weighs on the entire family: they are destined to be turned into the undead by the old father, himself infected by the terrible local wurdalak he killed. It is, so to speak, a kind of "extension" of the second episode of "The Three Faces of Fear" by Mario Bava, that starring the great Boris Karloff as a bloodthirsty wurdalack. Very dark and spectral atmospheres accompany the viewer throughout the film, enhanced by excellent direction by Ferroni and the remarkable special effects of Carlo Rambaldi. If you love atmospheric horror films, this story set among misty forests and old wooden houses in the moorland will keep you glued to the screen.
