Marvin Devereux, during his father's funeral, is approached by a beautiful girl he doesn't remember ever having met. He meets her a second time and decides to follow her to a motel, but the woman suddenly disappears, leaving him only a lipstick note «There is no more time»… Unfortunately, we can't tell you much more about the plot to avoid spoiling your viewing of the film. «The Doors of Silence» represents Lucio Fulci's last film: shot in just two weeks with very few resources (provided by D'Amato's Filmrage) and starring a John Savage who is absolutely below par and lackadaisical, the film remains a decent giallo or, to put it better, a noir, that, although not one of the best films directed by the director, remains appreciable and leaves us with a worthy memory of him. Released only and directly for the home video market, very hard to find.
