•Charlie is a young woman endowed with incredible powers that allow her to control fire. The secret services are on her trail and are hunting her, aiming to subjugate her. But a detective, who is the first to manage to track down the girl, ends up falling in love with her and protects her from the dirty intrigues and intentions of Uncle Sam... This, in brief, is the plot of the film, the "official" sequel to "Uncontrollable Paranormal Phenomena", the 1984 film based on a well-known novel by Stephen King. This "Incendiary" ("Firestarter 2: Rekindled" in the original) offers the best of itself in the initial part and in the "dark" ending and far from comforting. A couple of original ideas still allow you to follow the film with interest and a good dose of entertainment, especially to mention the two most important ones: the idea that the protagonist, not yet being able to fully control her powers, is forced to sleep surrounded by fire extinguishers; and the difficulties of the young woman in having a normal sexual life: when, in fact, Charlie retreats with her partners there is the risk that she burns the entire neighborhood! Good idea of the different flashbacks that allow those who haven't seen the first chapter and never read King's novel to understand all the twists of the story. The central part of the film, unfortunately, is a bit too slow and filled with sequences of "good feelings" that frankly add nothing to the story and could have been easily avoided. If you want to stay on theme and watch a sequel to a famous film based on a novel by the writer from Maine, the advice is "Carrie 2: The Rage", which, although it also has nothing original, turns out to be more pleasant and overall more fun. Overall, a film absolutely to avoid!
