•Julie, her best friend, and their respective boyfriends, returning from a small party on the beach, run over a man with their car on an isolated road. To avoid trouble, the guys, believing the victim already dead, throw him into the sea. In the following months, they try to forget, but it's not easy; things get even more complicated when, exactly one year after the incident, Julie receives an unsigned letter in which it is written "I know what you did last summer". From that moment, a crazy and mysterious killer begins to pursue her… Written by the teen-horror specialist Kevin Williamson (already screenwriter of "Scream" and its sequel) and directed by the semi-debutant Jim Gillespie "I know what you did last summer" is a clear attempt to exploit the success of the series created by Craven with a product that is completely similar, with a practically identical structure. Rich in quotes, with a good rhythm and the usual frantic succession of false leads, up to the inevitable (but this time rather predictable) final twist. The suspense and the fun are there, the originality is not, but overall the film is enjoyable.
