•A writer finds something mysterious buried in the woods. Back in the city, she convinces the inhabitants to retrieve it. In the unknown object lies some form of life that manages to subjugate the unaware inhabitants of the town to its will. Based on an excellent best-seller by the master King, this adaptation fails to maintain the suspense and growing tension that the book conveys. In the end, it is one of the usual mediocre video films without infamy or praise, and unfortunately without even a memorable sequence. Avoidable, suitable only for the most convinced Kinghianians.
