After years of fan requests, the legendary horror franchise Hellraiser will finally debut with a haunted house entirely dedicated to the original film saga, promising an unprecedented level of brutality and authenticity at the event.
The new attraction, announced for both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, will transport guests into the universe created by Clive Barker, recreating the unsettling and disturbing atmosphere of the first three films in the series:
Hellraiser (1987), Hellraiser II - Hellbound (1988), and Hellraiser III - Hell on Earth (1992).
The stated goal is to give visitors an authentic descent into the Cenobites' underworld, where pain and pleasure become indistinguishable.
A Journey Through Torture, Blood, and Iconic Settings
According to Universal's preview, the experience will be structured as a series of scenes pulled directly from the films.
Visitors will begin their journey by entering the world of the infamous Lament Configuration, the puzzle box that opens the portal to a dimension ruled by the Cenobites.
From there, they'll traverse some of the saga's most iconic locations:
- Frank Cotton's attic, site of the horrifying resurrections from the first film;
- the sinister Channard Institute, featured in the second chapter;
- the infernal labyrinths populated by Pinhead and the other Cenobites;
- environments filled with practical effects, blood, torn flesh, and monstrous creatures inspired directly by the original special effects.
Universal describes the experience as a complete immersion into the saga's universe, featuring cinematic sets, three-dimensional sound effects, strobe lighting, and numerous scare actors portraying the terrifying creatures of Hell.
Doug Bradley's Return Makes It Even More Authentic
One of the elements that surprised fans the most concerns the involvement of Doug Bradley, the original actor who played Pinhead.
The actor, absent from the role for many years, will not appear physically in the haunted house, but has recorded an exclusive new voice performance that will accompany both versions of the attraction at Orlando and Hollywood. His unmistakable voice will be used throughout the experience to recreate the atmosphere of the original films and heighten the sense of dread.
This is a particularly significant detail, considering that Bradley is universally regarded as the definitive face of Pinhead, and his involvement represents a powerful draw for saga enthusiasts.
Universal Aims for Extreme Horror
Among American industry insiders, the new haunted house is already being talked about as one of the most violent experiences of the entire 2026 season.
The Hellraiser universe allows Imagineers to push toward an aesthetic far more disturbing than other horror properties: mutilations, ritualistic torture, extremely realistic prosthetic effects, and deformed creatures will be central to the experience.
This visual component is precisely what makes the house one of the most anticipated productions among hardcore horror fans.
A Major Piece of the 2026 Lineup
With the Hellraiser announcement, Universal continues to build a lineup celebrating the 35th anniversary of Halloween Horror Nights.
The haunted house joins other major announcements already confirmed, including:
- Stranger Things 5;
- Sinners;
- Numerous original haunted houses developed in-house by Universal Creative.
The event runs at Universal Studios Florida from August 28 to November 1, 2026, featuring ten total haunted houses, scare zones, live entertainment, and attractions open during event nights.
For many American observers, Hellraiser already represents one of the year's biggest announcements: a license requested for decades that, thanks to its extremely adult and blood-soaked nature, could become one of the most memorable haunted houses in Halloween Horror Nights history.
