Mexico, early 1900s: a dangerous criminal manages to escape the executioner just a moment before his hanging. In his escape, he also kidnaps the executioner's own daughter, to avoid being shot at; with his accomplices, he takes refuge for the night in a strange inn that stands in the middle of a desolate desert; but the executioner with a group of soldiers is on their trail and catches up with them in the locality. Soon, however, everyone will realize that this inn with its sinister appearance is actually a lair of horrible vampires who use it to attract prey in order to feed on fresh blood. Outlaws and soldiers join forces to avoid ending up in the vampires' claws. Tarantino and Rodriguez appear again as producers of this third chapter of the series, which, do not be misled by the title, is not a continuation of the previous episodes, but rather a kind of prequel and remake of the first "From Dusk Till Dawn". Packed with good doses of blood and with special effects (once again, thanks to Robert Kurtzman) clearly superior to the usual standards of home video productions, the film has the only flaw of having a plot practically identical to the first film in the series, and therefore of being unoriginal. If you know how to make do and you liked "From Dusk Till Dawn" by Rodriguez, then this film is for you, otherwise you can also overlook it. Definitely superior to the bad second chapter of the series.

This one takes place in the 1910's. Except for the time period and different characters, this is pretty much a remake of the first film minus much of the thrills, humor, gags, and imagination. The characters aren't nearly as colorful, either. The first hour was boring. The rest had a few good moments but nothing new to get excited about and no Salma Hayek. A pure example of trying to capitalize on a name brand. -- DrNostromo.com
