Strange things begin to occur as a tiny California coastal town prepares to commemorate its centenary. Inanimate objects spring eerily to life; Rev. An American small town celebrates the centennial of its foundation, which occurred under unclear circumstances. One hundred years earlier, in fact, the inhabitants of that area lured a ship of lepers onto the cliffs of their shores in order to kill them and then retrieve from the water the gold cargo their ship was transporting; with the proceeds of that theft, the foundations of the town were then built. Thus, one hundred years later, the crew of that cursed ship returns to take revenge on the city that led them to their death. Only the intervention of the village priest will manage to calm the cursed souls of the sailors seeking revenge. Just over a year after the enormous success of "Halloween," the duo John Carpenter (direction) and Jamie Lee Curtis (lead actress) reform, and the results are once again excellent: a nearly perfect mix of suspense, tension, and fear. An original and inventive horror film that bears the signature of one of the masters of the genre and that, therefore, cannot be missing from the personal videotape library of true horror movie lovers. Must-see.
