•Mark is a guy who, after arguing with his girlfriend, lets himself be seduced by Serena, a mysterious girl with whom he spends a night of sex; but Serena then disappears into nothingness. The consequence of that romantic encounter will be a mark on Mark's right hand, a curse that, according to a legend, leaves the girl to every person with whom she has had sex.
Mark will thus begin to investigate Serena's past and discover a terrible secret…
"The Mark" is an Italian/Spanish ghost story with a story copied from various other films but with interesting passages, which if developed more accurately could have resulted in an enjoyable film; unfortunately, however, the result is a very predictable film and certainly not winning in originality, due to a plot that strongly resembles the various films belonging to the various ghost stories of the "New Eastern Wave".
There isn't even a moment of tension during the entire duration of "The Mark" and therefore this leads the film to be a product attributable to the utmost mediocrity without differentiating itself from most of the films that are distributed in our country for the sole "Home Video" market.
The scenes of "The Mark" pass with absolute boredom, without any fun or participation in the film by the viewer and without any memorable scene, in short more than a film we could define it "a waste of time and money".
Now let's talk about the actors: the performances and the jokes sometimes aren't convincing enough, in fact, at times they even seem ridiculous.
Wrong film, therefore, that should have focused on tension (like most Eastern ghost stories) but unfortunately it didn't…
I don't think there's anything else to say about this "The Mark", it's just one of the usual mediocre films that are easily forgotten after a short time.
I advise everyone not to watch this film and it's really a shame that the result was so disappointing now that Italian horror cinema is in crisis!
