A beautiful English girl is obsessed with terrible nightmares, in which she relives her recent abortion and the murder of her mother. As if that weren't enough, the young woman is also persecuted by an ex-lover, a priest of a satanic sect, who tries in every way to make her return to his congregation. Helped by a psychoanalyst in love with her, the girl tries to escape from her tormentors... Sergio Martino (director) and the Fenech-Hilton couple (leading actors) reunite in this giallo-horror, quite fluid and rich in "strong" scenes (black scenes, sacrifices, etc.); excellent the dreamlike and suspense-filled atmospheres and the "surprise ending". It is not a masterpiece in its genre, but compared to other similar films of the era, it stands out significantly, resulting in a well-made and more than watchable product. Worth rediscovering, but beware: look for the "uncut" version.
