•A group of ornithology scholars, during an expedition in search of the legendary "woodpecker with the silver beak", end up awakening an army of flesh-hungry zombies. The film's direction is signed by Claudio Lattanzi, an "improvised" director, it is in fact a young horror enthusiast who had never directed a film before. For this reason, the first days of filming had revealed several technical problems and that is why Filmrage, the film's production company, decided to assign to the young and still inexperienced filmmaker none other than Aristide Massaccesi (aka Joe D'Amato) who completely took over the reins of the project, avoiding however to have his name appear in the opening credits. Setting aside these curiosities, it can be said that "Killing birds" is a decent splatter-horror, which revives the "Italian-style zombies" trend without bringing any significant innovation. Only to be seen if you love the genre.
