A young radio enthusiast accidentally picks up a signal, a voice screaming in panic followed by a bizarre children's lullaby. Together with his girlfriend, he manages to trace the origin of the transmission: an abandoned house in New England. Once there, accompanied by a group of friends, the young radio enthusiast tries to unravel the mystery, but one by one, the youths begin to die in the most bizarre and atrocious ways. All the deaths are accompanied by the appearance of a little girl holding a diabolical doll in her arms... From the title, it might seem like a sequel to Raimi's films, but it is not; instead, it is an Italian production (Joe D'Amato) directed by Umberto Lenzi. Made with modest resources, "La Casa 3" manages to captivate the viewer thanks mainly to the unsettling appearances of the little girl and her doll, punctuated by a sinister children's lullaby as background music. The film features several references to one of Mario Bava's masterpieces, "Kill, Baby... Kill!". A decent Italian horror whose only strengths are, as mentioned, the appearances of the eerie little girl and an undeniably obsessive and deeply unsettling soundtrack. Ultimately, this is probably Lenzi's best horror film (although, to be fair, the director has never made any truly memorable movies), ruined by the "usual" poor actors and rather sloppy dubbing.
