•Imhotep, the priest - mummy has been awakened from his eternal sleep, but this time he is not the only danger to the peace of humanity: due to a powerful curse, the terrible Scorpion King, servant of the evil God Anubis, is awakening and will lead his armies to conquer the world. Rick and Evelyn, who have become husband and wife in the meantime, with the help of their little son Alex and her brother Jonathan, will have to save the world from this terrible threat once again. After the multi-billion dollar earnings worldwide of the first episode, it was almost inevitable that a sequel to "The Mummy" would be filmed. The director, Stephen Sommers, is the same as the previous chapter, and much of the cast (Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, Arnold Vosloo, John Hannah) are unchanged; the biggest novelty is represented by the invention of a new enemy: the Scorpion King, played by a giant wrestler known as "The Rock". Lots of action, miraculous special effects, sets (ranging from 1930s London to ancient Egypt) perfectly recreated by computer, some "fun" sequences, but, as already happened in "The Mummy", no suspense and no moment of tension. It cannot be defined as a horror (but given the subject treated and the public impact it was decided, as for the first episode, to review it), but rather as an action movie in Hollywood style. More spectacular than the first but a bit less original (after all, it is a sequel...), however enjoyable and fluid, it will make the happiness of those who love the movies "All special effects and fun".
