The Verdict
An expedition of adventurers travels to Africa in search of a treasure that Nazi troops have buried in the desert. Instead, they will find an army of Nazi-zombies placed to defend the immense wealth. Directed by the trash film director par excellence Jesus Franco and starring a host of incapable actors, "Oasis of the zombies" (also known as "Oasis of the living dead" and "Il tesoro degli zombi") is as bad as it gets for a horror film: laughable effects, terrible screenplay (with dialogues worthy of the "best" trash films), slow and tedious pace. The film's underlying idea (putting zombies in the desert?! to defend a treasure!!) speaks volumes about the artistic quality of the film, which risks leaning more towards the demoralizing genre than horror. Only for trash and B-movies lovers.
