In a paper mill, located in the middle of an Indian reservation, production systems cause biological damage to the local wildlife and, consequently, also to the indigenous people who feed on it. Dr. Vern is sent to the site to monitor the situation and quickly realizes that the matter is much more serious than expected... A beast movie, for once, commendable and engaging, thanks mainly to the solid direction of expert John Frankenheimer. The classic horror situations of the genre give way to the dramatic aspects of the story and the ecological critique in a film closer to drama than to horror. Worth watching, but if you are looking for rivers of blood and horrible genetic mutations, this is not the film for you.
