An American small town is shaken by a series of inexplicable murders: some people are found horribly corroded, apparently by a powerful acid. The perpetrator of these crimes will soon turn out to be a huge snake that escaped from a plane during its transport to a wealthy herpetologist (reptile expert). It will be up to a young worker at an acid factory to free the town from the threat of this fierce and enormous reptile. The first question that comes to mind after watching this abominable film is: Why was there a need to make a movie like this? "Python – Spiral of Fear" turns out to be the usual film, the usual beast-movie seen and reviewed hundreds of times, in which even after the first sequence of images, you already know how the film will proceed and how it will end. The story is really always the same: once again, we are presented with a series Z film that uses the usual giant snake as the villain, which no longer terrifies anyone and which, in the end, will be defeated by a group of stupid and unpleasant teenagers who, in reality, would have had no hope of salvation. To a "worn-out" story, a very elementary, flaccid, and predictable screenplay collaborates, which fails to scare even a child and, even worse, fails to make the viewer minimally passionate about the plot. To a disastrous screenplay contributes an even worse direction (to say anonymous would be a compliment), elementary and horribly television-like. Now let's talk about the cast: the actors are a disaster! No one does their job well, and no one manages to get into the character's role; the first among them is the protagonist himself, a complete unknown, unsuitable for his role and who, for the entire duration of the film, does nothing but run and pop wheelies with his bicycle. Among a sea of unknown and insignificant faces, two familiar faces emerge: the first is that of Casper Van Dien ("Starship Troopers"; "Shark Attack"; "Skeletonman"), one of the worst actors to appear in the long history of cinema, here in the role of a member of the special forces who arrives in the city to hunt the big snake; while the second familiar face is that of Robert Englund (the famous Freddy Krueger of the "Nightmare" series), who plays the role of the snake expert, and one wonders what an actor of his caliber is doing in an idiocy like this film. Same old story, terrible screenplay, amateurish direction, a dreadful cast, one hopes at least something good in the rendering of the snake… but nothing doing. The big snake, which this time is represented as a cross between various types of snakes, was rendered with a truly crude and poor digital effect, which in no way integrates with the landscapes but which, despite this, is put on display from the very beginning. Furthermore, to bring this film down even lower, which was wrong from the start, it was decided to insert several trashy skits, which are annoying and definitely unbearable. It is finally useless to expect from a film like this at least some splatter or gore sequence, because apart from a very quick decapitation and some bloodied skeletons found by the police, this film has nothing that can interest the horror film viewer. In conclusion, this "Python – Spiral of Fear" is a true piece of junk, poorly made, useless, predictable, with a horrible digital rendering, and has no reason to exist. Absolutely to avoid.

Dude you got me outta bed for a snake? Python, a made for TV film from 2000. The actually inspired the previous film I watched Boa/New Alcatraz and they even had a crossover, Boa vs. Python in 2004. Bisexual romance? That's innovative for a B Movie!

Why the FUCK does Will Wheaton have pink hair?? And is Jenny McCarthy's character supposed to be hot? Because she is not, unless she wasn't going for that in which case bravo! At least the effects for the dead bodies are good. It's cool Freddy is here maybe he can take the python to the dream realm or some shit.

If Boa is like Aliens but with a snake then this is Predator but with a snake. Can't wait for The Terminator but with a snake, Snakinator? All in all this isn't a bad movie especially for what it is. I still prefer Boa to this though.

Love this movie. Sure a lot of it looks fake, but there's a lot of kills and good actors. I'd be scared of this gigantic python that's for sure.
