A serial killer is captured and executed in the electric chair. But his spirit does not die and, in the form of electric discharges and lightning-fast apparitions, continues to claim victims. A young boy will think to defeat him. Another misstep by Wes Craven who directs a fantasy horror film full of special effects (curated by his son Jonathan) on the influence of television, media, and technology within society, in the form of a killer who travels through the ether via TV channels and electrical energy. Despite the good budget and decent means available, Freddy's father directs a dull, predictable, and in some points even unintentionally ridiculous film (like when the crazy killer jumps from one TV channel to another). Mediocre.
