In a future where order and discipline reign thanks to a strong and highly trained army, Earth is threatened by the invasion of horrible aliens in the form of giant insects. The infantry troops of the army of humans, thanks to their courage and preparation, save the planet from the alien invasion. Criticized for the "extreme violence" of some scenes and for some vague references to the Nazi-fascist regime (black uniforms, tattoos, and raised-arm salutes), the film is the best and most original that the fanta-horror genre has given us in recent years. Excellent special effects, massive doses of blood and dismemberment, all seasoned with a pinch of irony; in the cast, note the presence of an old star of "minor films" like Michael Ironside who leads a group of handsome, young, and unknown actors. Directed by Verhoeven, who became famous worldwide thanks to the direction of the sexy-thriller "Basic Instinct" and the sci-fi "Total Recall - Atto di Forza".
