The latest statements from the series creator, released to American media, confirm that American Horror Story 13 will not simply be a sequel to Coven, but rather a massive crossover capable of connecting the entire narrative universe built over more than fifteen years of franchise history.
According to Murphy, many fans misinterpreted the initial previews released during production. While the return of the witches from Coven represents one of the story's central elements, the new season was conceived as a true celebration of the entire mythology of American Horror Stories.
The creator himself described the project with a comparison bound to spark discussion: "It's like the Avengers of American Horror Story," suggesting that characters, settings, and narrative threads from different seasons will ultimately intertwine in one grand story.
A Historic Cast with Major Returns
The production has brought some of the franchise's most iconic performers back in front of the camera. Returning will be Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman, joined by newcomers like John Waters and other faces announced during filming.
