On Saturday, October 31st, 2026, La Grotta di Piumazzo (Castelfranco Emilia, Modena) hosts SPASMO FEST - Death Metal Halloween Edition, the sixth edition of this horror event presented by Alex Visani with Gli Schizzacervelli. For one night, four death metal live sets will alternate with an international selection of horror short films, with free admission from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
The 2026 edition formula brings together two underground worlds on the same stage: independent horror cinema and death metal. Stage changes become part of the program itself: between concerts, short films curated by Alex Visani will be screened, taking the audience on a journey through horror, grotesque imagery, experimentation, and visual delirium.
MUSIC – FOUR LIVE SETS
Four bands from the Italian death metal scene will accompany the Halloween night. There is no official "headliner": the program alternates concerts with film screenings. HORROR CINEMA FROM AROUND THE WORLD
The Modena event does not host the contest or awards ceremony: these take place in Perugia. In Piumazzo, months later, Spasmo Fest presents a curated selection of short films chosen by Alex Visani, including works awarded at Spasmo Fest 5 and other titles selected for the Halloween Edition. Screenings will alternate with live sets.

HIGHLIGHTS AND POINTS OF INTEREST
Four live sets of approximately 40 minutes each, alternating with film screenings. The Modena event is a post-festival showcase with no competition or awards. The selection includes two short films by Alberto Gelmi: Metus and Mark No Evil. Haiku 27 by Nikolaj Servettini won Best Short and Best FX at Spasmo Fest 5. Dressed for Dinner by Andrea Verardi is a short film created with artificial intelligence. The announced titles come from Peru, Italy, and France; the complete selection also includes works from Finland, Spain, Germany, the United States, and East Asia. The final lineup of performances and screenings will be announced later; the evening's program maintains the alternation between music and cinema.
