Whistle - The Call of Death - Official Trailer

The new disturbing horror centered on a killer whistle distributed by Midnight Factory

Midnight Factory will distribute in Italian cinemas from February 19th a much-anticipated horror film titled: Whistle – The Call of Death, an anguishing film directed by Corin Hardy, director of the already known The Nun, as well as the author of The Hallow and the series Gangs of London.

The film revolves around an ancient Aztec object, a whistle, actually used in antiquity to summon Death and instill terror in enemies in battle. Its chilling sound – impossible to forget – carries with it an inescapable curse: whoever hears it immediately anticipates the inevitable appointment with their tragic fate. In Whistle – The Call of Death, what should never be heard becomes the beginning of a nightmare without escape for a group of high school students pursued by Death, summoned by the cursed object and ready to hunt them down.

Whistle – The Call of Death is a choral horror set in a school context with a group of "misfit teens" as protagonists, marginalized adolescents and outsiders, and explores the dynamics of insecurity, belonging, social conformity, and marginality that characterize their daily lives. Hardy draws on all his experience to recreate memorable death scenes that leave little to the imagination, but beyond staging a brutal visual spectacle, he uses the supernatural threat as a magnifying glass for the fragilities of the protagonists. In the film, the terror of death becomes a metaphor for the adolescent fear of rejection, humiliation, feeling invisible, and uncertainty about the future. The struggle for survival thus transforms, for the young protagonists, into a journey of maturation and an emotional and social trial in which jealousies, conflicts, fragile friendships, and unlikely alliances emerge and force the boys to confront the next person and above all their own destiny.

Synopsis: A group of high school students discovers an ancient Aztec object, a death whistle, used to accompany the souls of sacrificed victims to the afterlife. The boys make the mistake of playing it, unaware that hearing its chilling sound means summoning Death itself, ready to hunt them down.
