A wealthy industrialist, after the death of his wife, is courted by a beautiful but mysterious woman who one night takes him to her friends' house for a party. He incredulously watches the projection of a porn video where his late wife stars as the protagonist. With a brilliant Klaus Kinski, the film, written by none other than Lucio Fulci, takes off from the very first images and is fully enjoyable. The solid direction by Freda ensures a good dose of mystery, perhaps superior to "The Iguana with the Tongue of Fire"; this giallo is aimed at all those who loved Fulci's very first films (who, ironically, debuted as a giallo director the same year with "L'una sull'altra") because, like those, "A doppia faccia" is infused with pink and hard elements. Only flaw: it was released when Argento's "The Bird with the Crystal Plumage" was all the rage in theaters and was mistaken for an unnecessary imitation product... bad luck. It is one of the best gialli ever made by the legendary director of "The Vampires".
