As Chianese
•This is the first giallo directed by master Fulci, who had previously made his debut in the genre by writing the excellent "A Doppia Faccia" for the great old master: Riccardo Freda. George (Jean Sorel) is obsessed with the figure of his wife (Marisa Mell), whom he believes to be dead, and sets out to find her. After various adventures, it is precisely George who is accused of her murder. It will be a mysterious stripper, identical to the wife, who will sow the seed of doubt in George, who wants to see clearly in this story full of perversion and intrigue... Excellent film, in some parts also erotic, a debut for Fulci who recreates the Hitchcockian atmospheres of "Vertigo" to make a film that, in the screenplay phase, seems a refinement of "A Doppia Faccia". Merit note also for the fact of having borrowed little from Argento, who was debuting in those years. Fulci's famous misogyny finds an outlet with a diabolical Marisa Mell and a sexy Elsa Martinelli; in the cast also a good Riccardo Cucciola. To be seen for those who love this genre of erotic-themed films, classics of those years.
