C'est la semaine précédant Halloween et Angela, la mère de Char, a inexplicablement disparu. Tout ce qui reste, c'est sa voiture abandonnée. Lorsqu'elle revient chez elle sans explication le soir suivant, Char et sa grand-mère comprennent que quelque chose ne va pas. Elle a beau avoir la même apparence et la même voix, le comportement d'Angela est de plus en plus effrayant, comme si elle avait été remplacée par une force malveillante. Lorsqu'arrive Halloween, une nuit imprégnée de mythes et de légendes anciennes, Char réalise qu'elle est la seule à pouvoir la sauver, même si elle risque de la perdre à jamais.

The opening scene is Horrorific, as it was some type of Terrifying Archaic Ritual. The atmosphere that we're surrounded with is rather gloomy, unsure if it's intentional. There is so much chaos going on and uncharacteristic behavior I'm thinking by the expressions of our characters. You're supposed to be safe with your family, but this film changes that perception of that Supposition. I do so enjoy Folklore Horror films, as they have so much Ancient Culture to pull from. The film being set in Ireland is just so much fun, and I'm thrilled to see how far they'll go with the story. The film is everything I could hope for in the Folk Horror Genre, I can only hope others will watch and enjoy this nicely crafted film as I have. This will be 1 of the 1st physical media I will buy in 7 years, along with Willem Dafoe's Antichrist.
