A man is killed with his son and once again a raven brings his soul back to earth to allow him to avenge the killers. Inevitable sequel of one of the most successful films of recent years. The protagonist Vincent Perez is not fully convincing in the role of the "black avenger" and the frenetic editing, music video style, with excessive use of special effects and fantasy settings, makes the film lose the dark and intriguing atmospheres that the first chapter had instead, turning it into a sort of generic action-horror. Born and mythologized as a "cursed film" "The Crow" was intended, and should remain, as a "unique" film, to which, both for the story and for the well-known events, no sequel should or could be given; but when there is the possibility of making some money, no one backs down... The advice is to rewatch the first one!

Quite the drop off.

I wasn't totally and utterly bored with <em>'The Crow: City of Angels'</em>, the short 85 minute run time helps, but everything about it is extremely forgettable. This sequel to 1994's <em>'The Crow'</em> fails to recapture anything that the original flick did so impressively, the whole vibe of this one just feels like a watered down rehash of what came prior.

Mia Kirshner is the pick of the cast, she doesn't get much to work with but is still someone I was at least a tiny bit interested in onscreen. Vincent Perez isn't terrible, though there isn't really anything to praise about his performance. Elsewhere, Iggy Pop gives a wooden showing - though at least looked like he was having a blast doing so.

Hopefully the other two sequels improved upon this.
