•Eric is a rock musician living with his girlfriend Shelley in a dilapidated building. One night, a group of thugs break into their apartment and, after raping the girl, kill both of them. One year after that terrible night, as an ancient legend tells, Eric's soul is brought back to earth by a crow to allow the boy to avenge his tormentors, who will be eliminated one by one… It has been defined as "the cursed film par excellence" and not so much for the setting, style, or subject of the film, but above all for the tragic accident that occurred on the set during filming: the young protagonist Brandon Lee (son of the famous Bruce Lee) was killed by a gunshot fired accidentally (or at least that's what has been said) with real bullets. Due to the tragic fatality, the sequences that still needed to be filmed by Brandon were completed with the help of computer graphics, capable of "resurrecting" (at least in cinematic fiction) the actor. It is undeniable that the film thus had the opportunity to enjoy great "free" publicity, attracting the morbid attention of the media and the curiosity of the public. That said, the various merits of the film should not be overlooked: starting with a great soundtrack (with tracks ranging from The Cure to Stone Temple Pilots), but also an excellent screenplay, a more than original subject (the story is based on the eponymous comic by James O'Barr) and the surprisingly confident and particularly inspired direction of the semi-debutant Alex Proyas. In short, everything goes well in this "cursed" film and we are sure that after watching the film, each of you will feel the desire to wear, at least once, the clothes of the black avenger. Only flaw, some annoyingly moralistic lines, of "biblical" style, made to be pronounced by the protagonist of the story; definitely out of place for a film that has little to do with morality.
