Elena, after arguing with her boyfriend, returns home because she feels like someone is spying on her. Once home, the feeling of being spied on does not go away but becomes even stronger, to the point that everything starts to scare her... Who or what is poor Elena threatened by? "In My Mind" is a short film lasting just over 26 minutes, the directorial debut of Italian director Michele Pastrello. The philosophy and atmosphere of this short film are comparable to the same philosophy and atmosphere used in the film "Lost Highway" by David Lynch: the viewer observes the strange and enigmatic spectacle of unease that "In My Mind" presents to us until being involved in a perverse game of roles where nothing is as it seems. During the viewing, one feels sitting on the floor, watched, always with the fear of being in danger, but one does not know from whom, from what and why one is really threatened! Truly a remarkable work this "In My Mind" that always manages to transport the viewer into a whirlwind of horror and unease where everything is an enigmatic game like in a puzzle and much is focused on the psychological factor (as the title already suggests). In practice, this short film is further proof that Italian horror cinema is not dead at all and that Italian directors have many ideas, in many cases original (as in this work) and also a lot of desire to do! Michele Pastrello, with only this first and already excellent work, has become for me a director to keep an eye on and who, in the future, with good probability, will make us see beautiful things! Recommended to everyone and especially to lovers of the atmospheres that director David Lynch creates in his films, you will not be disappointed at all!!! Curiosity: "In My Mind" was awarded as the best short film at the third edition of the "Pesarhorrorfest"!
