Marco Castellini
In order for a prophecy to come true and a fabulous treasure to be discovered, it is necessary that nine members of a noble family die. The murders happen punctually; to enjoy the money, however, will be the lover of a deceased man, who became so by her own hand. Avati returns to the grotesque by directing a story based on murders and comic gags, set in a provincial castle. Although the film clearly intends to parody and ridicule the commonplaces of the genre, it does not lack in staging the atmospheres and characteristics typical of horror: the cursed castle, the mysterious killer with black gloves and large hat (following the Argentine tradition) intent on committing atrocious crimes, etc. A sort of comedy-horror that would have much to teach, in terms of style and good taste, to recent Hollywood productions.
