On a small island not far from the coast stands a town with a few hundred inhabitants, where everyone knows each other and are friends. Following a storm of unparalleled violence, the island is unable to communicate with the mainland. Meanwhile, the peaceful inhabitants of the town are shaken by several atrocious murders committed by a stranger who arrived on the island just before the storm broke out. The killer is captured and imprisoned, but the bars are not enough to stop him. Is it a man, a demon, or the devil himself? And why does he specifically target the inhabitants of this peaceful town? Television miniseries based on a novel by Stephen King, who also adapted it for the small screen. Suspense and infernal fury shape "Storm of the Century". King, thanks also to the careful direction of Braxley, weaves otherworldly stories with earthly dilemmas: sacrifice your most solid principles or save your companion, your children, or the community in which you live? Definitely (and once again too) long, and slow in the initial part, but if you manage to watch it all at once, the ending, original and unexpected, rewards the effort. Along with the more recent "Rose Red", the best television miniseries among those based on novels or stories by the writer from Maine. Usual cameo by King in the role of a presenter within a television program.
