•In the suburbs of a dark 19th-century London, a terrible assassin wreaks havoc among the prostitutes in the Whitechapel district, earning the nickname Jack the Ripper. Inspector Frederick Abberline is on the trail of the assassin, but the investigation could reveal secrets capable of shaking even the English crown... A perfect Michael Caine in the leading role for a very fine historical reconstruction of the deeds of the first serial killer that history remembers. Over three hours of film that captivate and involve the viewer in a gradual but increasingly intense way, in the pressing anticipation of the ending where the presumed identity of the bloodthirsty Jack the Ripper is finally revealed. It seems that the reconstruction of the facts presented by this film is one of the most credible, see for yourself! The only flaw is the almost total absence of explicit sequences of violence or blood, but from a TV movie you cannot expect more. Highly recommended!
