Kate e Matt sono una coppia di New York sulla trentina. Lui è un artista di fumetti in difficoltà mentre lei è stanca del suo lavoro presso un grande studio legale. Alla ricerca di una vita più sana, si trasferiscono in una vecchia casa nel nord dello stato del New Hampshire. Qui, scoprono presto che esiste una stanza nascosta in grado di materializzare tutto ciò che desiderano. Trascorrono così a chiedere ogni bene materiale fino a quando non esprimono il desiderio di avere un bambino. Non immaginano nemmeno a quali conseguenze andranno incontro.

The Room explores an intriguing concept where a mysterious room grants any wish, but the film struggles with inconsistent logic and underdeveloped character arcs. While performances are convincing and the premise holds strong potential, sudden emotional shifts and unexplained backstories weaken the narrative’s depth. Several plot holes and illogical choices—especially in the film’s climax—diminish the impact of what could have been a powerful psychological thriller.
