A young and beautiful girl (Patsy Kensit) believes she is the reincarnation of Jack the Ripper's companion. Believing she sees in her doctor, a very young psychiatrist, her beloved, she begins to harass both him and his family. After yet another predictable trail of corpses, the brave doctor's prompt intervention resolves the situation with the inevitable happy ending. Yet another revisitation of the Jack the Ripper myth, and unfortunately, this time too, nothing new is added to the famous deeds of the Terror of London. The film, directed by veteran John Hough (“After Life”, “American Gothic”), turns out to be banal and incredibly boring. Not even the subtle erotic vein that pervades the film manages to save this very disappointing B-movie. The acting of the protagonists is also unconvincing and at times laughable. If you want to watch a good film about the “mythical” figure of Jack the Ripper, we highly recommend “From Hell” by the Hughes brothers, but also “The Real Story of Jack the Ripper”, a TV movie (which also came out in a home video version) starring the great Michael Caine; this “Bad Karma” you can safely skip!
