As Chianese
•A killer murders his victims and enjoys hiding parts of their bodies in the home of a widow who, seeing herself trapped, begins to investigate with the help of the duty commissioner... In the case, a funeral home agent named Mario Fulci seems to be involved... in the background to the crimes, the "Carmina Burana". Decent thriller, directed for television, directed by the "specialist" Lamberto Bava, with the good Thomas Arana in the role of a very stylized commissioner, a gloomy Giovanni Lombardo Radice and Joanna Pacula sometimes sexy but never dramatic. The film seems like a brazen American imitation product, it doesn't take off at all and has a rather implausible plot made of mix-ups and unclear facts. The screenplay is the work of the trio Teodoro Agrimi, Domenico Paolella and Bruce Martin (alias Lamberto Bava); the only thing that saves it is the photography of Luigi Kuvellier but the production, although wasted, (from Paolella's PAC) is certainly not poor. Viewable for the "uninitiated" while genre enthusiasts will hardly appreciate it, if Bava jr. had signed it with a foreign pseudonym there would have been more viewers.
