WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO SOLANGE?

In an English college, a maniac begins to massacre young female students. The police are in the dark, and it is the Italian teacher who sets out on the trail of the killer. The man, after some investigations, discovers that all the murders are somehow linked to a certain Solange, a former student of the institute who has been missing for a long time… One of the most successful and original gialli-horror films of the seventies. Directed in an exemplary manner by the former cinematographer Massimo Dallamano and starring an excellent Fabio Testi, the film features all the best clichés of the genre: suspense, violence, an effective soundtrack (by the master Morricone), but above all, excellent murder sequences (executed following a macabre ritual that involves killing the victims with a kitchen knife stabbed in the lower abdomen). The most chilling scene of the entire film remains, however, the terrifying final scene of the clandestine abortion inflicted on the young protagonist. A film definitely worth rediscovering! Trivia: the cinematographer is Aristide Massaccesi, aka Joe D'Amato, who also makes a "cameo" in the role of a policeman.
