Four horror stories: in the first, an old man killed by his daughter comes out of the grave to take revenge; in the second, a husband punishes his wife's infidelities but then suffers the consequences of his revenge; in the third, a ravenous monster is used by a scientist to get rid of his hated wife; and finally, in the last one, a hygiene maniac is devoured by an army of cockroaches. In the home-video version of the film, a fifth episode was added (inserted as the second story and unreleased in cinemas) in which we witness the unfortunate end of a poor farmer infected by an extraterrestrial virus. Directed by the great Romero and produced by Stephen King (who even takes on the role of the protagonist in the unreleased episode "The Melancholy Death of Jordy"), "Creepshow" is certainly the best of the horror anthology films. Macabre and ironic at the same time, it combines fantasy and fear, managing to captivate a very wide audience, from the youngest children to adults. A must-see and revisit, a real shame that it is almost never broadcast on television.
