A nobleman takes possession of the palace inherited from an ancestor. But he is poorly received by the villagers of the nearby town who still remember the series of misfortunes caused by the old masters. The new owner initially does not care, but little by little he feels possessed by the spirit of his ancient ancestor. The citizens then decide to assault the castle... Vincent Price and Lon Chaney Jr. together for this yet another production signed by Roger Corman. Decent but rather predictable and lacking real "scares". Based on a story by H.P. Lovecraft.
