REVIEWS (1)
At the North Pole, near an American base, a flying saucer crashes from which a monstrous alien being is extracted, apparently hibernating in a block of ice. Due to a fatal distraction, the ice melts and the being wakes up, sowing panic and death among the occupants of the base. In the end, someone will manage to stop it. Produced by Howard Hawks, this is a classic black-and-white film of the fanta-horror genre. Smooth and well-directed, it maintains much of its charm, although it is inevitably overshadowed by the famous remake directed in the 1980s by John Carpenter. The script is based on the story by John Campbell "Who Goes There?".
