•At the beginning of the 19th century, a Napoleonic officer witnesses the suicide of a man in a mysterious castle, haunted by the ghost of his murdered wife. After completing his mission, the apparition melts as if it were made of wax. A decent horror film directed by specialist Corman, whose strong point is the cast: in addition to the icon Karloff, we find a very young Jack Nicholson and an excellent Sandra Knight.
