Young babysitter Amanda arrives at the Lloyd residence to spend the evening looking after their young son. Soon after the Lloyds leave, a series of frightening occurrences in the gloomy old house have Amanda's nerves on edge. The real terror begins, however, when the child's biological father appears after recently escaping from a nearby mental institution.

A young babysitter finds herself alone at night in an isolated house with a child to take care of. Her nightmare begins when the ex-husband of the child's mother, a sadistic murderer, starts to harass her with threats and violence… A decent English-produced thriller-horror. Few essential elements (a woman in danger, an isolated house, an innocent to protect) but good suspense and tension throughout the film. There are those who argue that the iconic "Halloween" by Carpenter owes more than one credit to this lesser-known thriller, but certainly the American director's cult film has something more. Still recommended, although very hard to find.
