•A writer owes his enormous success to Misery, a character born from his literary imagination, and on whom he based a series of books. One day, while on his way to his mountain villa, he has a car accident and is saved by a woman, a nurse by profession, who takes him to her home. The man is forced to rely on her care because, due to a terrible blizzard, all the roads are blocked. The nurse turns out to be a die-hard fan of the Misery series and asks the writer to reveal the plot of the next novel he is working on. When the man informs her that in this last work Misery is destined to die, the woman goes mad and imprisons him, preventing him from escaping. For the writer, in precarious physical condition, it will not be easy to flee... Adapted from one of Stephen King's most effective stories "Misery", it is a film of excellent tension that keeps "glued" to the screen from start to finish. Unforgettable is the sequence, particularly gruesome, in which the nurse (Kathy Bates) breaks, with a huge hammer, both legs of the poor writer to prevent him from escaping. Bates' performance, simply perfect, earned her a well-deserved Oscar for best supporting actress. A film rich in suspense, absolutely worth watching!
