Cinque amici intraprendono un viaggio in camper attraverso l'America, pronti a documentare con le loro videocamere le più spaventosi attrazioni di Halloween che si trovano negli Stati Uniti. Cercando di vivere un autentico e agghiacciante spavento per Halloween, iniziano a visitare le "Case del terrore" meno conosciute. Proprio quando la loro ricerca sembra raggiungere un vicolo cieco, eventi strani ed inquietanti cominciano ad accadere e diventa chiaro che l'orrore che cercavano ha trovato loro. Li aspetta una notte molto più horror di quella attesa.
