•The librarian Jonathan Harker is summoned to the castle of Count Dracula, a centenarian vampire who assaults the young man and turns him into an undead. Dr. Van Helsing sets out on the trail of his friend Harker and discovers the truth. Now even he and young Lucy, Jonathan's fiancée, are in danger… After the myth of Frankenstein, Hammer decided to produce a film on the myth created by the pen of Bram Stoker and entrusted the direction to the expert Terence Fisher, with decidedly good results. The two protagonists of the film, Peter Cushing (Van Helsing) and Christopher Lee (Count Dracula), were so effective that they became real icons of the genre, to the point of playing, in the same roles, several other horrors. The first twenty minutes, although rather slow, are certainly suggestive, rich in charm, visually very careful and remain the best part of the film; memorable also the scene of the final confrontation between Dracula and Van Helsing. One of the best cinematic adaptations of Stoker's novel, a classic to see.
