A scientist, due to a failed experiment, becomes a horrible monster. However, he does not lose his mind and tries to save his girlfriend and the entire world from the claws of an evil man who wants to obtain the secret formula of the scientist's studies to misuse it. Classic example of how a high-level director can reduce himself, probably for economic reasons, to directing "disturbing" films. Ugly, predictable, with supermarket special effects; only the "sufficient" direction of Craven is saved. Suitable only for fans of the director.
