•In New Guinea, a chemical factory has an accident and releases toxic gases that turn the local inhabitants into zombies hungry for human flesh. A group of journalists and some soldiers attempt to thwart the threat. Classic Italian splatter-horror born in the wake of the success of "Zombi" and "Zombi 2". Plot, actors, and screenplay are, as usual, terrible, but the gory and gruesome scenes are good. Claudio Fragasso also collaborated on the film's direction, once again in an "unofficial" capacity (hence his name does not appear in the credits). A curious note: some sequences of the film were "stolen" from the documentary on cannibals "New Guinea, the island of cannibals", in an unusual blend of fiction and reality (or alleged as such); but this is not the only theft perpetrated by director Mattei: the film's soundtrack is in fact composed almost entirely of tracks by the Goblin taken from "Zombi" and "Buio omega", used, it seems, without their consent. Suitable for lovers of splatter in trash style.
