Ligeia dies assuring her husband that she would make herself heard even from the Afterlife. Indeed, when the widower remarries, his new companion becomes the victim of a series of terrible events that seem to be the work of the deceased. Gothic atmosphere for a film that clearly draws inspiration from "L'Orribile Segreto del Dottor Hichcock" by Freda. Corman, however, fails to reach the level of the Italian production by making a mediocre film and at times excessively slow. The story is based on Poe's eponymous tale.
