MERRY NIGHTMARE CHRISTMAS

2004
December 25, 2004

Christmas Eve, the snow falls copiously, covering everything with its white mantle. A boy and two girls are watching television in the cozy warmth of their home. Someone rings at the door, but. IT'S SANTA CLAUS!! It's just a shame that he's armed with a sharp cutlass.

On Christmas night, someone knocks at the door of a house, it's Santa Claus! But he is armed with a knife and, apparently, has no intention of doing good... But what purpose does Santa Claus kill for? A really crazy horror/splatter short film lasting about 9 minutes, by the Italian independent director Davide Pesca. Here too, as in various horror films (like "Black Christmas" and "Silent Night"), the Christmas setting is the scene of massacres. In this "Merry nightmare christmas" we find a massive dose of splatter provided by shots very careful to note the details of the injuries. Unpredictable final twist but with a wink to the short film "Caruncula" by the Italian Mariano Baino. This "Merry nightmare christmas" overall is a fun short film, which certainly does not aim at the originality of the story, and unfortunately after watching it leaves nothing to the viewer, but it definitely lets itself be watched with tranquility. It deserves half a vote more! Curiosity: "Merry nightmare christmas" is freely available directly from the official website of the director Davide Pesca that is: http://www.goreproduction.com/pesca/indexpesca.htm
