Martin, a young law student, to make ends meet, finds a part-time job as a night watchman in a morgue. But, unfortunately for him, he chose the wrong time, as a serial killer is terrorizing the city and the clues, strangely, all lead to him... In fact (few people know) it is a remake of a 1994 film, by the same director Ole Bornedal, released in Italy with the title "Guardiano di notte". Given the good success (critical) that film received, winning some awards in festivals and specialized thriller-horror reviews, the Danish director was called by Miramax to remake the same film with multiplied money and star actors. The result obtained is rather good: "Nightwatch" is a decent thriller, sufficiently engaging and well acted (among the protagonists Ewan McGregor, Patricia Arquette and Nick Nolte) but not memorable. The film did not have the expected success, according to the director because of the producers who would have re-edited the film ruining it irreparably.
