•An attractive middle-aged housewife (Angie Dickinson) is killed in front of a young prostitute (Nancy Allen), wrongly suspected of the crime. Together with the victim's son, the witness will unmask the maniacal killer. In the best tradition of "Omicidio a Luci Rosse" and "Blow Out", Brian De Palma directs with a skilled hand and the expertise of a cinematographic surgeon an excellent Hitchcockian thriller with strong tones, full of blood and tension with a great, unpredictable and typical final scene, purely in his style. Although the film offers its best in the first phenomenal fifteen minutes with which the director gives a lesson in style and unparalleled ability, the rhythm, suspense and attention remain well awake until the (double) end of the film. In the cast, notable are the excellent Michael Caine and the fascinating Nancy Allen (who had already worked with De Palma in "Carrie").
