•Young Jonathan Harker travels to Count Dracula's castle to negotiate the purchase of a house, indifferent to the rumors that depict the count as a terrible vampire. Upon arriving at the mansion, the man is attacked and bitten by the vampire who, subsequently, also decides to seduce his wife. The woman notices and manages, with a trick, to detain Dracula until sunrise in order to eliminate him. But there is still a vampire, Harker. Herzog rereads Murnau's “Nosferatu” in a dramatic key by directing a surely fascinating and atmospheric film, almost hypnotic, a perfect example of style that, however, lacks rhythm. Excellent performances by Klaus Kinski (undoubtedly the best of his career) and Isabelle Adjani; magnificent the photography. Recommended. Curiosity: the Italian version of the film is “shortened” by about fifteen minutes.
