A young librarian, a fan of horror novels, is pursued by Dr. Kessler, a psychopathic alchemist and author of her favorite books. The man intends to reconstruct his horribly mutilated body with other people's organs. He will be eliminated by one of his creatures. Winner of the Avoriaz Festival, the film, despite containing more than one reference from master Dario Argento and other horror authors, manages to be only mediocre. A slow and confusing plot, some sequences apparently disconnected from the story's development, and rather shaky direction are its most evident flaws. What a waste of an opportunity! One more recommendation: don't trust the Avoriaz award too much; some of the winning films are real "rip-offs" like "Helen's House" for example.
